Z House

The house presents itself as a series of flat-roofed volumes wrapped in pale brick and white render, with a slightly raised upper block finished in grey plaster. Deep overhanging roofs shelter a paved terrace furnished with outdoor seating, blurring the line between inside and garden.

A planted courtyard with a sculpted tree punctuates the entrance sequence, framed by glass and dark steel detailing. Ornamental grasses and perennial borders soften the geometric composition, allowing the architecture to sit quietly within its wooded plot near the Gooi region.

Completed between 2019 and 2021, the 300 m² residence was built with hand-baked Danish brick, polished concrete floors and a bespoke louvre system that filters daylight across the interior throughout the day.
