Villa in the heart of Gelderland

The kitchen forms the heart of the renovation: dark wood cabinetry runs floor to ceiling along one wall, concealing appliances and a built-in television behind sleek panels. A slender black track light with pendant fixtures traces the length of the island, where a veined marble countertop contrasts with pale grey storage units below.

Open shelving integrated into the island offers space for books and everyday objects, while a suede-clad central core adds texture and warmth elsewhere in the home. Large glazed doors open onto a terrace and garden, blurring the line between inside and out.

Every detail, from the positioning of lighting to the choice of hardware, was considered as part of a coherent whole, restoring proportion and calm to a home that had lost its balance after an earlier renovation.
