Monument Farm Restoration

Monument Farm Restoration

by Van der Padt & Partners

This historic farmhouse in 't Gooi has been transformed into a residential and working environment while preserving its authentic character through the use of original details. The restoration demonstrates respect for both the building's heritage and its natural surroundings.

The exterior of the farmhouse reflects the careful approach taken throughout: facades and roof planes retain their original proportions, while smaller interventions adapt the building for present-day living and working. Inside, the hallway leads into the living spaces, where old beams and masonry mark the transition to new functions.

The kitchen forms the practical core of the house, its layout shaped by the farmhouse's existing volume. The living room adjoins the kitchen and opens onto the terrace, connecting inside and outside across the 't Gooi landscape.

Van der Padt & Partners carried out the restoration, with attention to original materials and the building's agricultural origins. The additional photographs show how old and new elements throughout the house come together into a coherent whole, without losing the farmhouse's distinct character.
