Museum Quarter Penthouse

The kitchen island forms the heart of the space, its ribbed oak base resting on a slim black plinth that appears to lift the volume off the floor. Travertine, used for both the countertop and the ribbed backsplash, brings a soft, veined texture that echoes through matching wall niches and storage elements elsewhere in the plan.

Wine storage is integrated discreetly into the oak-panelled wall, with glass-fronted units revealing bottles and stemware behind vertical timber battens. A curved, sculptural hood in plaster rises above the cooking area, its rounded form softening the otherwise rectilinear cabinetry.

Throughout, materials are kept deliberately limited: oak, travertine, plaster and dark metal. The result is a restrained, cohesive interior where craftsmanship in the joinery details — fluting, reveals, integrated handles — carries the design language.
