Amsterdam South Penthouse

Amsterdam South Penthouse

by Wolterinck

This luxurious Amsterdam penthouse exemplifies refined contemporary living through its seamless integration of warm wood tones and marble finishes. The design prioritizes spatial flow and functionality, with a sculptural central volume housing integrated entertainment and storage that anchors the open-plan living areas. Strategic lighting and material contrasts create distinct zones while maintaining visual continuity, while custom millwork and curved architectural elements add sophistication throughout the residence.

Wolterinck was responsible for the interior design of this penthouse in Amsterdam Zuid, giving each room its own character within a consistent architectural language. The living room forms the heart of the floor plan, opening onto a kitchen that is both functional and representative. In the hallway, transitions between zones are marked subtly through material choice and light.

The bedroom and bathroom are conceived as quieter counterpoints, set apart from the more social areas of the home through careful routing. A separate home office provides space for concentration, distinct from the domestic rhythm of the rest of the apartment.

Taken together, the project shows how a penthouse can relate to its urban setting: enclosed, yet with an interior that allows room for daylight and outlook. Wolterinck's approach emphasizes coherence between the spaces, without individual rooms losing their own function.
